Freeze drying is the process of drying frozen products under vacuum conditions. Under this condition, heated water will sublimate directly from solid (ice) to gaseous form. As a result, freeze drying is the solution to keep the original shape, color, taste and nutrients of the food after the moisture separator.
In particular, in early 2022, Abro became the first unit to successfully freeze-dry Spirulina – a superfood in health care and beauty care. With a composition of 90% water, Spirulina is considered as an extremely challenging food for current drying technology.
